How to Use AI as a Productivity Tool with Mike Kaput [MAICON 2025 Speaker Series]

Workshop Preview: AI for Increased Productivity

“As a marketer, you need to be thinking about AI as a productivity tool," says Mike.

But, how exactly do you go about doing that?

First, understand what is possible with AI. Mike noted that everything has evolved since MAICON 2024. AI now offers advanced research functionality through multimodal tools—producing human-level output in minutes.

One way to become more productive with AI today: master custom GPTs. Mike recommends building 3-5 GPTs tailored to the responsibilities that take up the most time and energy. To get started, it’s as simple as pasting your job description, hitting save, and creating a virtual assistant for your role.

Lesson Learned: What Can Others Learn from Your Experimentation?

“Most people think AI has to be super complicated, assuming it requires technical skill. But here's the thing…it takes just seconds to get started,” says Mike. 

Mike emphasized the importance of pursuing AI education to fully understand what’s possible. But, there’s no substitute for experimentation. Experimentation is the key to understanding AI, and ultimately, to becoming a more effective marketer.

Looking Ahead: AI Agent Implications  

“No one can predict years into the future, but in the next 12 months, you can bet on one thing—AI models are not slowing down. They are getting smarter.”

Business leaders cannot afford to downplay the importance of emerging AI capabilities. Mike highlighted the rising importance of the AI agent space, like OpenAI’s Operator. When AI can autonomously visit your site, or click a purchase button, it has massive implications for marketers. Don’t wait to start thinking about it.
